"What We Do Best Is Care"
That’s not an original statement, but is certainly descriptive of First Christian Church in Moline. You’d have to look a long way to find a group of more caring people. If you are looking for a dynamic, energetic, caring church family, look no further!

We care about spiritual growth. We believe that each person’s soul needs to be nurtured and guided to become the mature spiritual being that God desires. We rely on the Bible and especially the teachings of Jesus to guide us in our efforts. We also cherish the examples and teachings of the faithful across the ages. As this generation learns again the futility of looking to material things for real satisfaction, meaning and purpose for being, we find our answers in things of the spirit. We offer a variety of worship experiences to help us know God in spirit and in truth in our lives.

We care about each other. We consider all members of the church part of an extended family. We want to be there to support each other in times of need and difficulty as well as in times of joy and rejoicing. We visit the sick, take communion to shut-ins, comfort the sorrowing and celebrate one another’s triumphs and achievements. We pray for each other. We are a family, not a perfect family, nor a family of perfect people, but a family of people striving to grow and find new ways of caring. There is plenty of room for you in this family.

We care about young people and the future. In addition to children's Sunday school classes, we have active youth groups within the church with summer camps and conferences. With other Disciple churches we help support colleges and Universities like Culver Stockton, Drake and Texas Christian University as well as seminaries for training our ministers, because we care about young minds. The fact that you are looking at us on the web shows that we are looking to the future, wanting to be on the growing edge.

Because we care, we have an active world wide missions program, a benevolent program that supports orphanages and homes for the mentally disabled around the country, and we help feed the hungry locally. There are many opportunities for service.

Most of all, we’d like to CARE about YOU. Come visit us, worship with us, stay after and have refreshments with us. Let’s get acquainted. What we do best is care.
